Let Miracle Flights for Kids Save Your Sick Child

July 25, 2017

Miracle Flights for Kids is a charity with a purpose. Unfortunately, at any given time, as many as 30 million Americans suffer from some sort of illness or other medical condition that makes life more difficult or even causes them to die young. Even more disappointing is that half of those sick people are children and many of them won’t live long enough to attend school. That’s the bad news. The good news is, many can be saved with modern medical treatment, if they can manage to get to it.

Sometimes, however, the treatment they need is not within driving distance. That is why, since 1985, Miracle Flights for Kids has been in operation and grown to become one of the most important charitable organizations in the country. This organization has become the largest nonprofit health and welfare flight service organizations in the country and they have provided more than 100,000 flights to families with sick children to get them where they need to go. Those flights have covered more than 55 million miles so far and they’re just getting started. They’ve been around for more than 30 years and they pan to be around for decades longer.

Need Airfare? Miracle Flights for Kids Can Help

April 25, 2017

Miracle Flights for Kids has run an outreach program for families of sick children who need to access medical care that may not be a short car ride away. Over the course of their 30-plus years of existence, they have seen to it that thousands of sick kids are not prevented from receiving the care they need because their families don’t have enough money for a plane ticket. That’s a lot of help for a lot of people. That may sound like a simple mission, but there is a reason that many of the families who have benefitted from their help refer to the volunteers who work for the organization as “Miracle Makers.” They are a godsend for families who are just trying to help their child get better and to make ends meet.

There is a screaming need for this type of thing. As many as 30 million Americans – that is 10 percent of the population – have been hit by a rare disease that either shortens or alters their life in some way. The sad part is, about half of that number are kids and many of them won’t live to their fifth birthday.

Parents of such children will so anythin to help their child get better, but they don’t always have the means. At times, the treatment they need is hundreds or thousands of miles away and their budget doesn’t allow them to pay for airfare. In operation since 1985, Miracle Flights for Kids has grown to be among the best nonprofit health and welfare flight organization in the country. Over the course of more than 30 years, these “Miracle Makers” have made it possible for many children to get the help they need and to help families find a greater peace of mind at a time which is among the most difficult that any parent will ever have to face.

People and Perez

Miracle Flights for Kids is an organization that has grown exponentially since its founding more than three decades ago. With thirty years of experience, they have continued to improve their operations, refining their system to optimize it in order to be able to help more and more children. Miracle Flights for Kids was founded by Ann McGee and at first it was mostly her doing the hustling to get things done. Now, many years later, there is a full staff to handle operations and a network of thousands of volunteers to help with every phase of their projects.

Miracle Flights for Kids is the United States' leading medical flights organization, providing free commercial flights to children who are suffering from serious medical issues and seeking out of state care or treatment. From time to time, this organization has attracted attention, such as being linked by the popular gossip blog PerezHilton.com or getting an article in People Magazine. In that People article, it noted that the staff of Miracle Flights for Kids spent their time scouring cheap-ticket websites and soliciting donate seats from airlines. They rely mostly on foundation grants and individual donations to fund their operations, which supply thousands of health and welfare flights each year. In 2015 alone, more than 6,800 medical flights were provided to families and children all over the country, completely free of charge.

If you cannot donate money to Miracle Flights for Kids, then there are certainly other options. Donating physical items that are in good condition and are necessary like vehicles, desks, office chairs, etc. can be helpful because every dollar that does not have to be spent on those materials can be used instead on flights.

The idea for Miracle Flights for Kids came to Ann McGee and stuck with her until she finally founded the nonprofit in 1985. The work was just beginning though, with a need for a nationwide support network of donors and volunteers. Children with health issues have benefited by receiving free air travel to the medical care they need.
